Heritage TURKEYS @SpruceLaneFarm

Visit our Breeding Trio of Bourbon Red Heritage Turkeys.

Peacocks aren't the only ones to strut and show off their pretty feathers!

The turkeys like the sunflower seeds from the feed despenser.

.25 cents for a handful

Money helps the Friends of Bronte Creek Park.

Children's Farm and Playbarn is a favorite place for kids to visit!

Feed and visit with goats, chickens, peacocks, rabbits and cows.

Best time to see animals IN the park (deer) is in the early morning or just before sunset.  In the Winter you can find owls and deer... see tracks from racoon or coyote.

Each season brings a new bunch of animals.

DOGs ON leash it's a law

Parks are for the enjoyment of all and the protection of natural and cultural features.  For these reasons please keep your dog securely leashed while in the park.

Enjoy the 2 leash free areas - ask a staff if you are not sure where.

Leash Free areas:

Remember to bring water for your dog and clean up after your pet.

P.S. we will be laying charges to the OWNERS of dogs who do not comply.

Summer Employment for Students

DON'T miss out again next year.

There is a short window of opportunity for students to apply for summer jobs.  ALL positions must be hired via this online pool of applicants.

Have your information ready in early MARCH!

Check the above website frequently!

Fill out the information in the boxes as requested and select the parks you wish to be considered for. --- try not to hit ALL parks, be selective and knowledgeable about which parks you are applying to.

Then I recommend calling the park or even visiting the park to talk to park staff.  Volunteering is also a great way to get a foot in the door.

Learn to Camp program

Learn the proper camping skills from real park rangers.

  • Where and how to set up a tent and dining shelter
  • What was that noise? should I be afraid?
  • How do I cook outside?
  • What if I have a problem?

"Learn to camp program exceeded my expectations!"

"Love the Program! Leaders really broke down the steps and taught us some really great tips.  Broke down some barriers for us, first time campers, by sharing some of their stories."
